Just Give Me the Gist of It
Jesus Didn't Say That
Knowing Christ directly vs. repeating what's been said in His name.
Jesus Didn’t Say That is a deeply personal reflection on the difference between knowing Christ directly and merely repeating what has been said in His name.
At the age of three, I had a personal experience with Christ that changed the course of my life. From that time forward, I sought out anyone I could find who seemed to know Him in a real, living way: not only as someone they had read about, but as a presence they had encountered firsthand.
Over the years, I often heard teachings, rules, fears, and superstitions spoken in Jesus’s name that did not match the love, wisdom, humility, courage, and compassion He exemplified. This book is a reflection on those moments: the times I felt compelled to question what was being attributed to Him, and to confront beliefs that seemed to distort rather than reveal His truth.
From a young age, I began to see how, over the last 2,000 years, political powers, religious authorities, and cultural traditions have often reshaped His teachings in ways that served control more than liberation. Yet beneath these distortions, the living truth of Christ remains simple, clear, and profoundly transformative.
I have been blessed to receive many clarifications about His meaning, His heart, and His way of seeing. Jesus Didn’t Say That is my attempt to share those insights, not to attack faith, but to help peel away the layers of fear, superstition, and manipulation that have too often been placed over the radiant love He came to reveal.
